Tomáš Kubíček z projektu Czechia 2026

prof. PhDr. Tomáš Kubíček, Ph.D.

Director of the Czechia 2026 Project
Director General of the Moravian Library in Brno, graduate from Czech studies, and literary historian. From 1995 to 2010, he worked at the Institute of Czech Literature of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where he founded the Department of Prose Theory and the tradition of narratological research. He headed the Department of Czech Studies at Palacký University in Olomouc. Since 2014, he has been the director of the Moravian Library in Brno. He teaches at Charles University and has written more than two dozen monographs on narratology and 20th-century Czech literature.

Ing. Martin Krafl

Programme Director of the Czechia 2026 Project
He worked as Director of the Czech Centre in Berlin and later in Vienna. He was president of EUNIC Austria, the Austrian association of cultural institutes of European countries, and advisor to EUNIC GLOBAL in Brussels. In 2019, he coordinated the presentation of the Czech Republic as the guest country at the Leipzig Book Fair. He previously worked in the media and diplomatic services of the Czech Republic, including seven years working with President Václav Havel. He currently works at the Moravian Library in Brno as programme coordinator for the presentation of the Czech Republic at international book fairs and Director of the Czech Literary Centre. He is president of ENLIT, the European Network for Literary Translation.

Jana Hájková

Project Manager of the Czechia 2026 Project
She has more than 10 years of experience in grant management and research project management. She worked for 14 years at Masaryk University where she was involved in the administration of national and international grants, financial management, and reporting. She also organised professional conferences. She is the Czechia 2026 Project Manager.

Jiří Suchánek

Creative Industries Coordinator of the Czechia 2026 Project
A cultural project manager with extensive international experience. He led the Pilsen – European Capital of Culture 2015 project, the OKD Foundation, and for almost eight years the DEPO2015 creative centre in Pilsen. He was involved in the programming and production of EXPO 2010 in Shanghai, EXPO 2017 in Astana, and EXPO 2020 in Dubai. He is also the creative producer of light festivals in Aveiro, Portugal, and Pilsen (West Bohemia), and represents several artists in the field of digital art.

Kateřina Krepsová

Financial Manager of the Czechia 2026 Project
She has extensive experience in economics and financial management. She worked as an economist and financial manager at Masaryk University in Brno, where she was responsible for economic matter and project budget management. In the Czechia 2026 Project, she is responsible for budget and financial resource management.

Alena Stejskalová

Artistic Event Coordinator
She studied media and communication studies and Czech language and literature in Brno, worked as an assistant to project managers and in PR, and spent several years as a clerk-analyst at the Czech Post. Over the past three years, she has been involved in preparing presentations of Czech literature at international book fairs in her role of an administrator at the Moravian Library in Brno.

Hana Richterová

Programme Coordinator
She graduated with a degree in combined art studies and cultural management where she focused on the interconnection of poetry, visual arts, and architecture. Professionally, she worked in HR as an HR Associate and personnel manager at university, specialising in project contracts. In addition, she pursued independent creative work. In the Czechia 2026 Project, she is responsible for coordinating the program and artistic events.

Martina Bartoňová

Book Fairs Department, Moravian Library in Brno – Coordinator
With more than twenty years of experience in organising book fairs, she is involved in preparing the Czech Republic’s presentation at international book fairs. She has experience with project management and promotion, and has also worked as a data protection officer, editor of economic literature, and webmaster.

Andrea Vinšová

Book Fairs Department, Moravian Library in Brno – Coordinator
She has many years of experience in the tourism industry, having worked abroad as a travel agency delegate, then branch manager of a travel agency, and having taken part in trade fair promotions for natural products. Later, she worked for several years at an IT company as an IT operations coordinator, where her main responsibilities concerned organization, coordination and communication between technical teams.

Michala Čičváková

International Cooperation Coordinator at the Czech Literature Centre with the area of responsibility for the German-speaking area
She studied German and art history in Brno and completed internships abroad in Germany and Austria. For many years, she worked as an international cooperation coordinator, implemented European projects in the field of education, and worked as a translator and language teacher.

Sára Vybíralová

International Cooperation Coordinator at the Czech Literature Centre with the area of responsibility for the French-speaking area
She studied French and history at the Faculty of Arts in Prague, followed by a doctorate under dual supervision in Prague and Paris. She has worked as a lecturer, translator, and publishing editor. In addition to her work at the Czech Literary Centre, she translates mainly contemporary French prose and occasionally collaborates with literary magazines.

Kateřina Chromková

International Cooperation Coordinator at the Czech Literature Centre with the area of responsibility for the Spanish-speaking area
She studied film studies, literature, and Spanish translation at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno. During her studies, she completed internships at universities in Almería and Málaga. Recently, she has worked at the National Film Archive in Prague. She occasionally translates film subtitles. Currently, she coordinates residencies at the Czech Literary Centre, among other things.

Jan Musil

International Cooperation Coordinator at the Czech Literature Centre with the area of responsibility for the English-speaking area
Studied Czech, English and Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Arts in Prague, before continuing with a doctorate course. He has been awarded scholarship residencies as well as research and professional fellowships in Leipzig, Vienna, Cambridge, and London. He translates from English and German, is an editor of the world literature monthly Plav, and contributes to Czech and foreign magazines and journals. He previously worked as a translator and high school teacher.

Jiří Sedlák

PR Coordinator of the Czechia 2026 Project
He graduated from international politics and philosophy at the University of Economics in Prague and sociology and social science at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. He has dedicated his career to PR and communication of cultural projects across genres –⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠ be it music, theatre, film and literature. In this field, he has worked for projects such as the Colours of Ostrava and JazzFestBrno, Letní Letná Theatre Festival, Pilsen –⁠⁠⁠⁠ the European Capital Culture 2015, the Audio Book of the Year, and then Great Book Thursday. In the Czechia 2026 project, he is in charge of media relations and collaboration with domestic and foreign communication partners. He loves literature and the German language.

Karolína Tomečková

PR Specialist of the Czechia 2026 Project
She studied journalism, environmental studies, and library science focusing on literature in a cultural context. She has worked in the non-profit sector, an advertising agency, and editorial offices. In the Czechia 2026 project, she is responsible for creating content for social media and the website, and contributes to the overall PR coordination of the project. In addition, she works as a PR assistant at the Host publishing house.

Soňa Šírová

Czechia 2026 Project Administrator
For many years, she worked in the South Moravian Region, where she was involved in the administration of subsidy programmes, financial control of subsidies, and cooperation with tourism coordinators. She was in charge of presenting the region at domestic and international events, organising professional meetings, and was also responsible for marketing campaigns. In the Czechia 2026 project, she provides administrative support to the team.

Lucie Hlobilová

Czechia 2026 Project Assistant
She studied economics and management at the Faculty of Business and Management at Brno University of Technology, specialising in corporate finance and business, and has pursued this career in several commercial companies. In 2021, she expanded her professional knowledge with accredited empowerment coach training, and currently, as an empowerment coach, she focuses on helping clients with self-awareness and achieving their professional and personal goals in line with their personal potential. She provides administrative support to the team in the Czechia 2026 project.
