
Miroslav Hlaučo (b. 1967) graduated in Clinical Pharmacy in Bratislava, before going on to graduate in Prague in Direction at the Department of Dramatic Theatre at the Academy of Performing Arts, and in Film Studies at the Faculty of Arts. After a brief period in which he made his living from art, he has worked for many years in medical research and development in cellular biotechnology. His debut novel Letnice [Pentecost] won Magnesia Litera awards for Debut of the Year and Book of the Year.
