Říhová Zuzana

Zuzana Říhová (b. 1981) studied Czech and Comparative Literature at Charles University’s Faculty of Arts. She is a long-standing member of the Institute of Czech Literature of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where she focuses on research into the avant-garde and modernism in an international context. From 2014 to 2017 she headed the Department of Czech at Oxford. Since 2025 she has served as Dean of Humanities at the Anglo-American University.

Her first literary works were the collection of poetry Pustím si tě do domu [I Let You Into My House] (Dauphin, 2016) and the novella Evička [Evička] (Dauphin, 2018). She is also the author of the novel Cestou špendlíků nebo jehel [Through Pins or Needles] (Argo, 2021), which was shortlisted for the Magnesia Litera award.The poetic novella Rok Proměny [Year of Transformation] (Argo, 2024) is an artistic depiction of several key months in the life of Franz Kafka and has also been published in a German translation.
