
Iryna Zahladko (b. 1986) is a Czech-Ukrainian poet, translator and graduate in theoretical physics who has lived in Prague since 2019. Her work has appeared in numerous magazines and published zines. Across the Czech and Ukrainian art scene, she has organized festivals, curated exhibitions, held slams and other performances, and worked with authors in various ways. She is a member of the Czech Writers’ Association.
Her two published collections of poetry in Ukrainian are Sobache oko [Dog’s Eye] (2015) and Lement i lehit [Wail and Breeze] (2018). In Polish, she has published the collection Trójkącie [Triangle] (2025). Her three books of poetry in Czech are Tváření [Shaping] (2023), Jak se líčit v nemoci [Makeup Tips for the Sick] (2024), and Propaganda [Propaganda] (2026). For Makeup Tips for the Sick, she won the 2025 Literary Critics’ Award for Poetry.
In 2026–2027, Makeup Tips for the Sick will be published in English, Spanish, German, and Italian.
