Zhořec Antonín

Antonín Zhořec (b. 2000) is a poet, literary critic, and queer activist. A graduate in Hispanic Studies from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, he is currently studying Gender Studies at the Faculty of Humanities at the same university. Adolescent released Rejpnu si do solární bouře [I’ll Poke at the Solar Storm], his debut collection of poetry, in spring 2023; together with colouring pictures by the author, this was nominated for the Most Beautiful Czech Book of the Year in the Artist’s Books category and subsequently translated into German under the title Ich piekse den Sonnensturm. His poems have been published in the anthologies Toto je môj coming out [This Is My Coming Out] (2022) and Zde je místo k vyklepání snů [Here Is a Place to Knock Out Dreams] (2025), as well as in magazines. The author is a member of the Czech Writers’ Association.
