The governments of the Czech Republic and Slovakia have been delivering on their manifestos to bring about significant change in cultural policy – in Slovakia from autumn 2023, in the Czech Republic from late 2025. The three guests in this discussion have been publicly expressing their views on social issues in their countries for many years. They will talk about what the “new course” consists of, its narrower and broader impacts, and how cultural actors and the general public are reacting to it. They will also address commonalities and differences between these two neighbours.
