A great many comics on historical themes are published every year. Among umpteen volumes with predictable storylines and artwork, an original, inspirational work will occasionally stand out. The authors of two such remarkable comic books share their thoughts on how comics can capture stories and themes of history, and what they try to avoid. Is it really essential to pay attention to every detail on a uniform? Is it sometimes the case that imagination and creative freedom take a back seat to precision? And which historical period presents the greatest challenge?
