We commemorated the centenary of Franz Kafka’s birth in 2024. So many years later, how far are we able to continue in the tradition of Kafkaesque absurdity, known to Czechs as “kafkárna”? How open to interpretation is Kafka’s life story now that the literature about Kafka is incomparably more voluminous than his own work? Zuzana Říhová and Magdaléna Platzová show us how Kafka is still present in contemporary thought and literature, and how Kafkaesque motifs are reflected in the world of today.
