In recent years, Czech literature has featured an ever increasing number of distinctive voices belonging to authors born outside the Czech Republic who have chosen to write in Czech. Their work often raises questions of language, home and migration, while reappraising the conventional idea of what it means to be a Czech writer. This conversation with three award-winning poets writing in Czech, Zofia Bałdyga, Maria Iljašenko and Iryna Zahladko, will be led by British-born writer and journalist David Vaughan, who writes fiction in Czech.
