It is the end of September, and the sand is no longer as hot as it was in summer. There are more people on the beach, and a little girl keeps trying and failing to build a castle out of dry sand. Lucie Lomová creates a large-format scene that feels like a moment plucked from a longer story, leaving the viewer free to imagine what went before and what will happen next. In this single image, the author of comics for children and adults demonstrates her flair for storytelling, characterization and subtle situational detail. The work will be created as visitors watch, by a combination of Wall Ink robotic printing and hand-drawn illustration.
