My Life for My Word is a feature-length documentary that captures the sometimes uncompromising positions taken by globally recognized Czech writer Radka Denemarková, as well as the essence of her work’s themes and their comprehensibility for an international audience. Denemarková sees her literary talent as a gift and the fight for the human dignity of those without a voice as her moral duty. The author’s novels, set in the 20th and 21st centuries, have been translated into twenty-five languages. The natural, open manner and special sense of humour Denemarková displays in discussion and when accepting awards have gained her fans all over the world. Director Slobodanka Radun followed Radka Denemarková on her literary travels and stays, from Germany to Switzerland and from Israel to Taiwan.
