What is the point of authors and readers meeting in person in an age of digital communication, and what do we expect of a literary festival? A literary festival is a celebration of books but also a space where literature can address topical issues, cross borders and enter into dialogue with other cultures. Representatives of three Czech literary fairs and festivals – Book World Prague, the Autumn Book Fair in Havlíčkův Brod, and the FALL festival at the DOX cultural centre – will discuss the various forms and ambitions of literary events with Lucie Campos, director of Lyon’s Littérature Live festival.
