Although their drawing differs greatly in style and concept, Jindřich Janíček and Birgit Weyhe have one thing in common: an intense interest in comics nonfiction, in telling “real” stories, and in reportage, the essay, the appeal to activism, and the travelogue. In conversation with Jakob Hoffmann, they will talk about their current projects and the possibilities and limits of comics nonfiction. Are there things that comics, with its combination of word and image, can do better than more traditional reportage and journalism? Could comics bring new themes to literature? If so, should it even try to?
