On 21 September 2026, The Blue Sofa welcomes Czechia as the Guest of Honour of the 2026 Frankfurter Buchmesse. Authors Jaroslav Rudiš and Klára Wang Tylová will be guests at the Bertelsmann Representative Office in Berlin.
In his new novel »Wo die Toten sprechen« (The Stories the Dead Tell, Luchterhand), Jaroslav Rudiš tells the story of a fast-paced odyssey, exploring friendship, transience, and the ties that unite us across Europe. In Klára Wang Tylová's novel »Die Geister von Taipeh« (The Ghosts of Taipei, Parasitenpresse), six voices from Taipei recount stories of belief in ghosts, the real estate market, longing, and impermanence. Closely interwoven into an unsettling chorus, the six narratives create a powerful atmospheric pull.
Under the motto A Country on the Coast, Czechia will present the diversity and vitality of its literary landscape at the 78th Frankfurter Buchmesse
