The recent surge of interest in autofiction again raises questions of where lies the boundary between autobiography and fiction. Lucie Faulerová and Marek Torčík work with personal experience and the stories of others. Their work explores authenticity, memory and the forming of identity not as givens, but as open, problematic constructs. In this form, writing becomes a tool for self-knowledge and empathy.
