Ondřej Buddeus (b. 1984) is a writer, teacher and editor. He has long been active in areas where literature merges with other artistic disciplines. His work has won domestic prizes (notably the Jiří Orten Award, Magnesia Litera and the Golden Ribbon) and been shortlisted for prizes abroad (notably the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 2017 and 2025). He has created or co-created the children’s books Kolo: Dopravní prostředek budoucnosti [The Bicycle: The Transport of the Future], Uááááá! [Oo-aah!] and Hlava v hlavě [The Head in the Head], as well as publishing books of poetry such as Zóna [The Zone], 55,007 znaků včetně mezer zóna [55007 Characters including Spaces] and Rorýsy [Swifts], among other artist’s and professional works. His work has appeared in a number of anthologies at home and abroad. He works at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the college Scholastika.
