Jindřich Janíček (b. 1990) was born in Znojmo. He is a graduate of Tomas Bata University in Zlín and the Studio of Illustration at UMPRUM. A sought-after book graphic artist and illustrator, he is a winner of the Czech Grand Design award. He won a Muriel award for best drawing for his “comics documentary” B jako běžec [R for Runner] (2021), about running races in the United States. In 2022, he published the illustrated travelogue Na západ severozápadní linkou [Westward by the Northwest Line] about a trip to the northwest of the USA and British Columbia. He is co-author of the comic book series William & Meriwether, which has been translated into multiple languages.
