We look forward to further developing our traditionally close ties with Austrian publishers and readers there,” says Martin Krafl, director of the Czech Literary Centre and programme director of Czechia 2026. “With the Czech Republic as the first priority country, we are providing an important impetus for the international development of the Buch Wien book fair and strengthening literary exchange beyond Austria’s borders,” said Patrick Zöhrer, Executive Director of the Buch Wien book fair. “The focus on Central and South-Eastern Europe has a long tradition at the Buch Wien book fair – and, given the close cultural ties and great potential of this region, it also has a clear future.”
Initial details regarding the Czech Republic’s participation in the Buch Wien 2027 fair will be announced during the opening night of Buch Wien 2026 on 25 November on the Donau Lounge stage.
