On 5 September, the exhibition *From the Heart of Europe: Czech Book Art from 1900 to the Present* opened at the Klingspor Museum in Offenbach am Main. Around 190 exhibits by 120 artists showcase more than a century of Czech book art. Here is a photo report from the exhibition and its opening.

The exhibition traces the evolution of Czech book art from Art Nouveau and Symbolism, through the avant-garde and Functionalism, to contemporary design and illustration. Among the artists featured are Alfons Mucha, Josef Čapek, Toyen, Josef Lada, Jiří Trnka, Květa Pacovská and Aleš Najbrt.

The exhibition has been organised by the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague in collaboration with the Klingspor Museum to mark the 2026 Frankfurt Book Fair, where the Czech Republic is the guest of honour. The project was realised with the support of the Czech-German Future Fund.

The exhibition can be visited at the Klingspor Museum until 29 November 2026.
