
Eli Beneš (b. Prague, 1976) studied English and American Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Prague’s Charles University before going on to study Television and Radio Journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the same university. He was involved in the Paideia project at the European Institute for Jewish Studies in Stockholm and the Ami-Ad programme in Tel Aviv. For fourteen years, he worked as a presenter at Prague’s Radio 1, where his primary focus was Czech electronic music; he has been the owner of a music publishing company and a long-time composer of music for Czech Television and other media outlets. He is an occasional teacher of electronic music at the Electronic Music Academy in Prague. He has worked in the media, first as editor-in-chief of a number of magazines and later as a publisher. He currently works for the media company Seznam.cz. The novel Nepatrná ztráta osamělosti [A Slight Loss of Loneliness] was his literary debut. Všechno bude super [Everything Will Be Cool—End of an Era Report], his most recent novel, was published in 2025.
