Petr Hanel (b. 1989) developed a keen interest in storytelling and Anglo-American screenwriting in 2015 in the Netherlands, where he was then living. After returning to the Czech Republic, he founded the platform Klub psáčů [Writers’ Club] for promotion of the technical aspects of story development; in a podcast of the same name, he interviews Czech writers and directors. He has directing ambitions of his own and takes an active interest in dramaturgy. He is currently writing the screenplay for a new SF film by Robert Hloz. O hvězdách víš hovno [You Don’t Know Shit about Stars], his bold debut novel, is published by Host.
