Andrea Tachezy (b. 1966) is a Czech artist and illustrator who specializes in illustration of children’s books. Although she is a graduate in Animation from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, she has never worked as a professional animator. Over many years as a graphic artist, her special interest in intaglio printing techniques led to her putting on a number of exhibitions at home and abroad. Her career as an illustrator was launched when she won an audition to illustrate Nevídáno neslýcháno [Unseen Unheard], a book of Josef Kainar’s poetry published in 2005. Since then, she has illustrated dozens of books for various publishing houses. Tachezy’s book illustrations have recently appeared in Mojenka [Mylene] (2022) by Olga Stehlíková and Diktáty [Dictations] (2025) by Petr Borkovec.
