
Kateřina Tučková (b. 1980) is a novelist, playwright, journalist and art historian. Her books have sold over 450,000 copies in the Czech Republic alone. She has won several literary awards, including the Magnesia Litera and the 2022 Czech State Award for Literature. In 2017, she received the Freedom, Democracy and Human Rights Award from the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes. She has also been awarded the Premio Libro d'Europa at the book fair in Salerno, Italy. Tučková’s books have been published in 25 languages. Her debut novel Vyhnání Gerty Schnirch [Gerta] was adapted for the screen in 2026.
