Dora Kaprálová and Eva Profousová are artists-in-residence at Villa Concordia in Bamberg

Villa Concordia, Bamberg
The Villa Concordia International Artists’ Residence in Bamberg, Bavaria, is hosting new scholarship recipients in 2026. In the field of literature, the Czech Republic is represented by Dora Kaprálová and Eva Profousová. Czechia is this year’s partner country for the program.

Residencies at Villa Concordia have been underway since April 2026, and another group of fellows will arrive in October. Artists stay in Bamberg for five or eleven months, depending on their choice. During this time, they live and work there, with access to the facilities of the International Artists’ House and a monthly stipend of 1,500 euros.

Dora Kaprálová and Eva Profousová were selected for the program’s literary track. Alongside them, Leon Engler, Franziska Hauser, and Christine Koschmieder also received literary fellowships. Franziska Hauser will begin her five-month residency in October. The residency program includes public presentations during which the fellows showcase their work to the public.

The new residents were officially introduced by Villa Concordia Director Nora-Eugenie Gomringer on May 19, 2026, at Villa Concordia in Bamberg.
