Two literary agents share experience of promoting Czech literature on the German-language market over the past three years. In recognition of Czechia’s role as guest of honour, this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair will present 75 Czech authors and over 100 new titles translated into German in 2024–2026. How well are Czech books doing in their attempts to penetrate the German-language market? What strategies and challenges line the route leading from Czech author to foreign publisher and reader?
