
Jonáš Zbořil (b. 1988) is a writer, poet and journalist. He is a graduate in Czech and English from the Faculty of Education of Prague’s Charles University. Until December 2021 he worked at Radio Wave, where he presented several programmes including Liberatura. Since 2022, he has worked in the culture section of the Seznam Zprávy website. Zbořil’s collection of poetry Podolí was published in 2013; it was nominated for the Jiří Orten Award and the Magnesia Litera for Discovery of the Year. In 2020, he published the collection Nová divočina [The New Wilderness]. The novella Flora (2024) is his prose debut. Rights to the novella have been sold for 19 languages, including German, English and French.
