Altmann Kristin

Kristin Altmann was born in Herne in 1988 and grew up in Saxon Switzerland, where she attended a Czech-German school. She studied Czech and French literature, cultural studies and linguistics in Dresden and Prague.

After graduating, she initially worked in publishing before moving to Munich, where she worked as a freelance translator and copywriter. Alongside literary translation, she developed a particular interest in comics and graphic novels as well as the language of digital media, working on websites, apps and localization projects.

Her literary translations from Czech into German have received support through a number of grants.

Since 2018, Kristin Altmann has lived with her family in Stockholm, Sweden, where she works as a content designer and translator.
