Ruben Höppner is a publisher at the independent Berlin-based Anthea Verlag and a literary translator from Czech. He studied Slavic Studies and German Studies in Berlin and Prague and works as a research associate at the University of Potsdam. His doctoral research focuses on the semiotic representation of Roma in Czech rap and, more broadly, on popular culture, masculinity, and theories of translation and space in Slavic contexts.
In 2024, he relaunched Anthea Verlag, focusing its publishing programme on young, thematically and stylistically diverse literature from Central and Eastern Europe.
