
Petr Šesták (b. 1981) graduated from the Faculty of Education at Charles University in Prague. For two years, he lived in a motor home as he travelled about Europe with a mobile exhibition of photographs. He has published the poetic-philosophical travel book Kočovná galerie [A Nomad’s Gallery] (PaperJam, 2014), the collection of short stories Štvanice [The Hunt] (Dauphin, 2015), the novel Kontinuita parku [Continuity in the Park] (Host, 2021), the children’s book Cesta je pes [The Road Is a Dog] (Host, 2023), and the novelistic pamphlet Vyhoření [Burnout] (Host, 2023). In 2025, he debuted as a playwright when his play Darwin & Co. was staged at Brno’s Goose on a String Theatre. Petr Šesták now lives mainly in Prague. He runs analogue photo booths and organizes cultural events in Mikulov, South Moravia.
