1. Step into Bohemian Villages
What else don’t we know about our neighbors? Check out the booth that Jaromír 99 has transformed with his illustrations, and discover Czech-German stories and words that are hard to translate. For example, “pohoda,” “nadhled,” or “verschlimmbessern.”
2. Turn the handle of the Poesiomat
Turn the handle and listen to works by Czech and German literary figures. Just choose a piece and listen.
3. Meet authors and have history signed for you
The Fund’s discussions will feature Radka Denemarková, Jaroslav Rudiš, Martin Becker, Judith Herrmann, Gregor Sander, Daniel Brössler, and other figures from both countries. And if you enjoy history with a twist, meet the creators of the cult series “Oprásky sčeskí historje” and take home a signed postcard.
4. Enjoy a cup of coffee that knows no borders
The fair is all about connecting with people. Stop by for a cup of coffee from the Liberec-based roastery Nordbeans and strike up a conversation with people who bridge the Czech Republic and Germany—in culture, civil society, and other areas. Who knows—maybe a new joint idea will emerge over coffee.
5. Discover books that transcend borders
Meet Czech and German publishers right at the booth, flip through their books, and find out how Czech stories reach German audiences—and vice versa. Since 1998, the Fund has supported nearly 1,300 books—almost one every week.
6. Come with an idea. Leave with a plan.
Do you have an idea that could connect the Czech Republic and Germany? Tell the Fund about it right at the booth. You’ll find out what the Fund supports, how funding works, and what you need to turn your idea into a real Czech-German project.
Where can you find the booth?
