Anna Beata Háblová (b. 1983) is a writer, poet, poetry slammer, architect and visual artist. Her paintings blend architecture, poetry and street art. She has published four collections of poetry. In 2017, she published the popular science work Města zdí [Cities of Walls], which addresses the history of the shopping mall and how to make sense of its relation to the city. It was followed in 2019 by Nemísta měst [Non-Places in Cities]; part academic study, part fiction, it explores neglected, forgotten and transitory spaces. In recent years Háblová’s reflections on architecture have been broadcast on Czech Radio, for which she has also presented Doba složitá [Complex Age], a podcast on philosophy. Směna [The Shift], Háblová’s first novel, was published in 2022; hitherto, it has been translated into six languages. It was followed in 2025 by the novel Víry [Beliefs].
